Corey is a seasoned professional with over two decades of experience in law enforcement and corporate investigations, specializing in digital forensics, cyber investigations, and information security. Throughout his career, Corey has held numerous leadership roles and has become a trusted expert in the field. His expertise spans a wide range of areas, including insider threat, supply chain security, open-source intelligence (OSINT), and operations security (OPSEC).
Professional Experience
As the Chief of Operational Security (OPSEC) & Insider Threat at a major US defense contractor, Corey led a team of counterintelligence and insider threat investigators, overseeing security initiatives and assessing threats & vulnerabilities to national security.
Corey's experience extends to the management of digital forensic labs, where he was instrumental in the development and leadership of a state-of-the-art law enforcement facility that conducted thousands of digital forensic examinations for over 30 federal, state, and local agencies. He also has extensive experience conducting host-based digital forensic analysis for civil litigation firms, as well as insider threat, data exfiltration, and intellectual property theft investigations for major corporations.
As a trainer for The Spector Criminal Justice Training Network Inc., Corey developed and delivered certified computer crimes awareness training to law enforcement officers across Connecticut. His curriculum included topics such as identifying digital intelligence sources, proper seizure of electronic devices, using technical data to solve various type of crimes, and cybercrime investigations.
Corey has significant hands-on experience investigating cybercrime such as business email compromise (BEC), phishing, vishing, smishing, romance scams, and payment card industry (PCI) fraud.
Leadership and Professional Development
Corey's leadership skills are exemplified by his tenure as Lieutenant of a municipal police department where he was assigned as Commander of the Investigations Division. In this role, he oversaw multiple investigative units, including major crimes, youth investigations, evidence & property, and forensics units. Corey was also responsible for policy development, budget preparation, and conducting internal investigations.
Throughout his career, Corey has been committed to continuous learning and professional development. He holds multiple professional certifications including CompTIA Security+ and Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE). He has also earned Cellebrite CCO/CCPA certifications, Blacklight Certified Examiner (BCE) and Mobilyze Certified Operator (MCO) certifications. Additionally, he has completed extensive training in digital forensics, supply chain risk management, counterintelligence investigations, and open-source intelligence (OSINT).
Corey is a member of the International Association of Computer Investigative Specialists (IACIS) where he served as a peer review coach for the CFCE certification process. Corey is also a member of the New England chapter of the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP).

He has been invited to speak in classrooms at institutions such as UCONN Law School as well as Manchester Community College, where he delivered lectures on digital evidence and forensics. As an expert witness, Corey has provided testimony in court proceedings, leveraging his deep understanding of digital evidence and forensic analysis.
